A head-on collision between a car and a pickup truck caused LaSalle Avenue to be blocked Tuesday afternoon near its intersection with Route W.

A Volkswagen passenger car and a Ford pickup collided before 1:30 p.m., and the road was still blocked at about 1:45 p.m. Extrication was required, and two people were taken to a hospital with injuries.
