Chalk up another honor for Southeast Missouri State softball player Alexis Anderson.

Anderson was named to the 2013 National Fastpitch Coaches Association Division I All-Mideast Region second team Thursday. She recently also earned first-team all-Ohio Valley Conference honors.

Anderson had a big rookie season with the Redhawks this year after transferring from junior college.

The junior center fielder batted .403, the fifth-highest single-season mark in program history. Her .500 average in conference play led the league.

Anderson also led the Redhawks in slugging percentage (.632), on-base percentage (.434) and hits (54). She tied for the team lead with 27 runs scored, tied for second with eight home runs, was third with 26 RBIs and tied for third with seven doubles.

"This is a huge honor for Alexis after an outstanding year," Southeast coach Lana Richmond said in a release. "This is also a great honor for our program, and we look forward to Alexis having a big senior year."

Anderson was among six OVC players to receive all-region recognition, three making the first team and three the second squad.

The all-region selections are eligible for All-America consideration.
