Mary Jeannette Schneider, 91, of Bedford, Texas, formerly of Cape Girardeau, passed away Wednesday, May 15, 2013.

She was born Aug. 23, 1921, in St. Louis and was raised there by her parents, Eugene and Dagny Craddock. She has one younger sister, Dorothy Meldahl of Shorewood, Minn., and was raised with a cousin, Swannie Carlson of Corvallis, Ore., who was like a sister to her.

While attending Southeast Missouri State College in Cape Girardeau, Jeannette met her future husband, Norman F. Schneider. They were married at St. Louis on Nov. 14, 1942, and had celebrated 62 years together at his death in April 2005.

Jeannette and Norman moved to Bedford in 1983 after his retirement from Phillips Petroleum in Stavanger, Norway, and were longtime members of Peace Lutheran Church in Hurst, Texas, where she proudly served in the Altar Guild.

She was a resident of Parkwood Healthcare in Bedford at the time of her death. She had a life lived well. The family would like to thank all her friends who came to see and ministered to her with their friendship the last four years.
