WARE, Ill. -- Henry Mac McLane, 85, of Ware died Sunday, May 19, 2013, at his home.

He was born Oct. 10, 1927, in Ware, son of Henry Levi and Minnie Jackson McLane. He married Maxine Rogers on Oct. 10, 1948, in Jonesboro, Ill. She preceded him in death March 27, 2010.

Henry was a member of Ware United Methodist Church for many years. He was a life member of Carroll P. Foster VFW Post 3455 in Anna. Henry spent his life farming in the Mississippi River bottoms of Ware and Wolf Lake, Ill.

He was a pilot. He loved to fish, especially in Florida. He dearly loved spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Henry and his late wife, Maxine, enjoyed traveling.

He proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War.

Survivors include two sons, Michael (Debbie) McLane of Jonesboro and Mitchel (Amy) McLane of Ware; eight grandchildren, Christopher McLane, Michaella Campbell, Gretchin Emrick, J.D. Emrick, Heather Goins, Patrick McLane, Drew McLane and Koby McLane; four great-grandchildren, Madison Goins, Matthew McLane, Kylie Campbell and Conner McLane; special nieces, Kay Ruckrigel and Cynthia Hoffer; and other relatives and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and wife.

Friends may call from 9 a.m. until time of service Wednesday at Rendleman and Hileman Funeral Home in Jonesboro.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with Bill Littrell officiating. Interment will be in Jonesboro Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to TIP Hospice or Ware United Methodist Church. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
