STEELE, Mo. -- A Steele pedestrian was seriously injured after being struck by a train Saturday in Pemiscot County.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, at 9:10 p.m., 45-year-old Lisa G. Hemphill of Steele was walking on the railroad tracks at the railroad crossing on Gibson Street in Steele and was struck by northbound train operated by Joseph E. Wormington, 28, of Cape Girardeau.
Hemphill was taken by ambulance to a hospital in Osceola, Ark., and then flown to Elvis Presley Trauma Center in Memphis, Tenn.
