CAIRO, Ill. -- The Rev. Alex M. Brooks, 84, of Cairo died Thursday, May 16, 2013, at Daystar Care Center. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until time of service Friday at First Praise Missionary Baptist Church in Cairo. The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the church, with the Rev. J.L. Posey officiating. Burial will be in Mound City National Cemetery. Military honors will be provided by Illinois National Guard and area veterans...
