To the person who found my purse in a cart in Walmart in the parking lot, thank you. There are good people in the world and I appreciate it. God bless you. I would like to thank the free dental clinic. The volunteers and dentists were very nice. What kind of fools are Americans? They know socialized health care doesn't work. Venezuela, a socialist nation, can't even keep toilet paper readily available. How do you think America will be able to handle socialized health care?...

Purse return

To the person who found my purse in a cart in Walmart in the parking lot, thank you. There are good people in the world and I appreciate it. God bless you.

Dental thanks

I would like to thank the free dental clinic. The volunteers and dentists were very nice.

Foolish

What kind of fools are Americans? They know socialized health care doesn't work. Venezuela, a socialist nation, can't even keep toilet paper readily available. How do you think America will be able to handle socialized health care?

Fireworks funds

It seems rather ridiculous that the city wasn't able to scrape together money to have fireworks. There needs to be common sense.

Not confidential

I was so upset when I went to the Social Security office. There is a lack of confidentiality. I heard a lot of people give their numbers and information out very loudly. One would think our government facilities would be as tight as a hospital with all the identity thefts.

H2-ewww

I read the Speak Out comment about how the city should do something about the water's taste and smell. It is bad. We thought there was something wrong with our system when we moved here and when we talked to the department, they said it was just how it is here. I saw on PBS, they even knew our water was bad. It doesn't look like the city's going to do anything about it.

Mad about grads

I was at Jackson High School's graduation, and I was amazed at how rude people were there. The bull horns were in poor taste, and many parents couldn't get in close enough to take pictures and too many people were saving too many seats. There were young people sitting in seats reserved for people with handicaps.

More officers

I heard about a brawl downtown. Do you think the city with the money they're making from the casino can afford more police officers to walk around? I don't think just driving by will help.

Elementary cliques

Today my child came home with a Jackson South Elementary yearbook. Why didn't someone make sure all the children had the same amount? It seems like the same children were in there more than others and they were not school related. Elementary school is too early to start cliques.

Street clippings

When people mow their lawn and blow their clippings in the street, they should clean it up. I know there's a city ordinance that isn't enforced.

Stops

If Cape Girardeau wants to make additional revenue, there should be officers at Lexington and Sherwood Drive where there are always people running the stop signs through the intersection. Stop signs should be stopped at, not coasted through.

Noah, anyone?

In regard to the Speak Out caller who said someone should control the Mississippi River from flooding, he should talk to God. As far as I know, he's the one in control of that.

Tax renewal

The city council wants us to renew the restaurant and hotel tax. I pray people don't renew it. It was supposed to be for the River Campus, not the city. We should turn taxes down. They keep going up, and the money is wasted.
