Kevin D. Collier, 52, of Jackson passed away Sunday, May 26, 2013, at the home of his mother in Jackson, surrounded by his loving family.

He was born Jan. 30, 1961, in Chaffee, Mo., to Daniel O'Neal Collier and Ella Jane Stause Collier Elfrink. He and Rheanne M. Evans were married Dec. 14, 1999, in Fruitland.

Kevin was a self-employed carpet installer.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Army.

Survivors include his wife of 13 years, Rheanne Collier of Jackson; four children, Tammara Wielgus and husband Jason of Elgin, Ill., Derik Collier and wife Tracy of Fredericktown, Mo., Lucas Collier of Jackson and Michael Collier of Dexter, Mo.; eight grandchildren; his mother, Ella Elfrink of Jackson; his father, Danny Collier of Shelbina, Mo.; a brother, Daren Collier and wife Patti of Pocahontas; and his mother-in-law, Connie Evans of Energy, Ill.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Eldan Collier; a sister, Wendy Collier; stepfather, Ennis Elfrink; and father-in-law, Rheamond A. "Tiny" Evans.

A time of gathering for family and friends will be from 1 to 2 p.m. Saturday at Meredith-Waddell Funeral Home, 2704 S. Park Ave. in Herrin, Ill.

A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Jerry Schell officiating. Interment will be in Boner Cemetery at West Frankfort, Ill.

Memorial donations are suggested and may be made to Southeast Hospice, 10 Doctor's Park Drive, Cape Girardeau, MO 63703 or Safe Harbor Animal Sanctuary, 359 Cree Lane, Jackson, MO 63755. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
