The Scott County Senior American Legion baseball team completed a road sweep of a doubleheader late Tuesday night in its first action since disbanding after the 2008 season.

Scott County defeated the Jackson Senior Babe Ruth squad 5-1 in the opener, then used a five-run top of the seventh to grab a 14-9 win in the nightcap.

Scott County's Logan Henson pitched a complete game in the opener and scored two runs. Henson allowed six hits, struck out four, walked one and gave up unearned run.

Tyler Rogers, Zach Carlyle and Layne Spies all had two hits in the second game. Roger finished with four RBIs, Jimmy Golden had three, while Caryle had two.

Dominic Hooper notched the win with four innings of three-hit relief. He struck out four, walked seven and gave up two earned runs.

Cape Post 63 16, Woodland SBR 6

Trevor Propst went 3 for 6 with two doubles and a triple, scored three runs and drove in seven as Cape Ford and Sons Post 63 defeated Woodland SBR 16-6 Wednesday at Central High School.

Propst also got the win on the mound, allowing five runs (three earned) over six innings, giving up eight hits, walking two and striking out two.

Cambron Womack doubled and drew five walks for Post 63 (3-3), scoring twice and driving in a pair, while Josh Morse was 2 for 4 with two runs and an RBI.

Junior Legion

Cape Plaza Tire Post 63 (4-2) swept a doubleheader from Charleston BR, 12-2 and 8-6 Wednesday at Capaha Field.

Connor McGarr was the winning pitcher in the opener. Hayden Lynn was 2 for 3 with a double and three RBIs, while Tyler Essner was 2 for 3 and drove in one run.

In the second game, Justin Vaught was 3 for 3 with a triple and an RBI, while Connor McGarr doubled and drove in two runs and Nick Jones triple and drove in a pair. Gabe Haas was the winning pitcher in relief. Essner got the save, entering the game in the bottom of the seventh with one out and the bases loaded and retiring both batters he faced.
