Joy Ann Hoffmeister, 68, of Jackson passed away peacefully Monday, June 10, 2013, at the home of a daughter in Kelso, Mo., surrounded by family. She was born March 11, 1945, in Portageville, Mo., daughter of Bob Kyle and Edna Mae Davidson Cronan. She and Leonard C. Hoffmeister were married May 15, 1998, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Jackson. Joy Ann Hoffmeister, 68, of Jackson passed away peacefully Monday, June 10, 2013, at the home of a daughter in Kelso, Mo., surrounded by family.

She was born March 11, 1945, in Portageville, Mo., daughter of Bob Kyle and Edna Mae Davidson Cronan. She and Leonard C. Hoffmeister were married May 15, 1998, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Jackson. He preceded her in death Jan. 6, 2013.

Joy was a member of St. Paul Church. Her greatest joy was spending time with family and friends. She especially loved shopping, eating out and spending time with her grandchildren. Joy and Len enjoyed going on trips and spending time together. Joy was a hard worker and loved taking care of everyone. She worked numerous years in retail sales.

Loving survivors include two daughters, Deanna (Scott) Henderson of Jackson and Jennifer (Johnny) Mosier of Kelso; three granddaughters, Kacey Moore, Hannah Moore and Suzanne Mosier; a grandson, Cody Henderson; two brothers, James Cronan and Alfred (Francis) Scott; a sister, Alice Richerson; and Jean McAfee whom she considered a special sister.

She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Doyle Cronan and Walter Scott.

Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. today at McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson.

The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Marty Hasz officiating. Interment will be in Cape County Memorial Park in Cape Girardeau.

Memorials may take the form of contributions to St. Paul Lutheran Church, Trinity Lutheran School or Southeast Hospice.
