Sheridan, Hammes win Furry 5K race

Laura Sheridan and Kevin Hammes were the overall winners from the recent Fitness Plus Furry 5K held in Cape Girardeau.

Sheridan, 34, was the first female finisher in a time of 20 minutes, 49:12 seconds.

Hammes, 47, the first male finisher as he topped all competitors in a time of 18:04.55.

Donahue, Waller place first at Kimbeland

Sissy Donahue and Karen Waller finished first in the Kimbeland Wednesday Night Ladies League last week.

Karen Heisel and Margaret Sanders tied for second with Harriet Drusch and Dixie Jones. Krista Birk won the closest-to-the-pin competition, while Donahue sank the longest putt.
