Evelyn Peetz, 85, of Jackson passed away Saturday, June 22, 2013, at Monticello House in Jackson.

She was born April 18, 1928, in Gordonville, daughter of Albert William and Frieda Graden Gerecke. She and Clarence E. Peetz were married March 5, 1947, at Zion Lutheran Church in Gordonville. He passed away Aug. 30, 1990.

Evelyn was a lifelong member of Zion Lutheran Church, where she was active in the Ladies Aid and Bereavement Committee. She was a 1946 graduate of Jackson High School. She moved to Jackson from Gordonville in 1990.

Loving survivors include three daughters, Carolyn (Paul) Sides, Doris (Lawrence) McBryde and Sue (Bill) Dickerson, all of Jackson; two sisters, Ellouise Siebert of Jackson and Shirley (Benny) Campbell of Knoxville, Tenn.; seven grandchildren, Tamara Niedbalski, Christina Johnson, Brian Sides, Lance McBryde, Ashley Wright, Shanna Dickerson and Brittney Dickerson; and 11 great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers, a brother-in-law and two great-grandchildren.

Friends may call 4 to 8 p.m. today at McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson and from 9 a.m. until time of service Wednesday at Zion Lutheran Church.

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the church, with the Rev. Wayne Schiesow officiating. Interment will be in Zion Lutheran Church Cemetery at Gordonville.

Memorials may take the form of contributions to Zion Lutheran Church or Zion Lutheran Church Cemetery Fund.
