Joyce A. Long (Bonney), 75, of Jackson, passed away Thursday, July 4, 2013, at the Monticello House in Jackson. She was born Jan. 8, 1938, in St. Louis County, to Charles and Bessie Johns Long. She and Richard H. Bonney were married May 7, 1957. Joyce's family moved from Fredericktown, Mo., to Jackson in 1977. Joyce A. Long (Bonney), 75, of Jackson, passed away Thursday, July 4, 2013, at the Monticello House in Jackson.

She was born Jan. 8, 1938, in St. Louis County, to Charles and Bessie Johns Long. She and Richard H. Bonney were married May 7, 1957.

Joyce's family moved from Fredericktown, Mo., to Jackson in 1977. She was a former dispatcher for the Cape Girardeau County Sheriff's Department and worked as a security guard at Procter & Gamble. In her spare time, she enjoyed gardening.

Loving survivors include six children, Bret Bonney (girlfriend Kathy) of Ballwin, Mo., Sherri (Tom) Weakley of Jackson, Tracy Bonney of Paducah, Ky, Tina Bonney (boyfriend Mike) of Shawneetown, Mo., Cindy Bonney of Cape Girardeau and Wendy Anderson of Jackson; 24 grandchildren, Brandi, Mandi, Donna, James, Jessi, Stephani, Brandon, Blake, Justin, Whitney, Forreste, Paul, Jonathan, Elizabeth, Joshua, Brittany, Coty, Garrett, Alexus, Carl Jr., Ja'Lin, Lucas, Matthew, Brandy; 19 great-grandchildren; her former husband, Richard H. Bonney of Festus, Mo.; and two siblings, Virginia (Dean) Gideon of St. Peters, Mo., and Charles (the late Phyllis) Long of St. Louis County.

She was preceded in death by a son, Richard O. "Richie" Bonney in 1988; one brother, Johnny Long; and her parents.

Friends may call from noon to time of service Sunday at the McCombs Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau.

Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Grant Gillard officiating. Interment will be in Russell Heights Cemetery in Jackson.

Memorials may take the form of contributions to the Alzheimer's Association.
