Senators' response
I recently contacted both of our senators, [Claire] McCaskill and [Roy] Blunt, regarding my displeasure of them going on one of their many recesses before resolving the student loan interest rates that are scheduled to double from 3 percent to 6 percent. I received a "form letter" from McCaskill telling me how she supported student loans. It didn't address my concern at all. I received a response from Sen. Blunt that began the memo with: I share your concerns about the student loan interest rates and here is what I propose we look at. The difference between the two responses was like night and day.
Great fireworks
I went to the fireworks in the park and it was really beautiful. I'd like to see that happen every year.

Cell tower
Apparently AT&T operatives are unaware of it, but we have developed more than a sufficient number of mesh networks in this area so as to make their desire to build a monstrosity of a cell tower in the middle of Cape's historic network superfluous, unnecessary, unneeded and, under any conditions, unwanted.
Workers' comp
Concerning your placement of the 'Governor vetoes workers' comp database' on page 3: At least it was above the fold. I seem to remember the hullabaloo our Republican legislators raised about the scanning of documents when we get our driver's license renewed. They seemed to really be concerned about our rights to privacy. That doesn't flow when they "quietly" write and pass a bill that created and allowed broad access to a new electronic database containing the personal information of 554,000 Missourian citizens who had the misfortune to get hurt on the job and applied for workers' compensation.
