KENNETT, Mo. -- Kennett police Lt. Tim Trowbridge on Wednesday said the department has made arrests after a woman falsely claimed she was robbed at gunpoint at Unico Bank.

According to Trowbridge, Kennett police, with the help of the Missouri State Highway Patrol and the Dunklin County Sheriff's Office, arrested Heather Godair, 24, and Tony Bishop, 33, as part of the robbery investigation.

Trowbridge said in the initial report, Godair, manager at the Kennett Burger King, told police she was robbed at gunpoint Sunday while making a deposit into the restaurant's account by an unknown individual wearing a gray bandanna concealing his face. Godair claimed after taking the deposit bag from her, the suspect got into her car and forced her to drive to the 600 block of North Vandeventer Street, where he fled between houses.
