I still don't think the new cell tower looming disaster is a done deal. New novel?

I still don't think the new cell tower looming disaster is a done deal. I think those city council members favorably disposed to vote for it could change their minds if I can convince an author to write a book or short story about its potential effects, once constructed. The author I'm trying to retain to use his powers of imagination to write about it is Stephen King.

Fix the street

I live on Niemann Drive. About eight months ago, the city sawed a piece of concrete out of the middle of the street and patched it. The street is worse than before they worked on it. It's like speed bumps all the way down the street. I was wondering if the city is going to come back out and fix the street like it was supposed to be fixed. If that's the best work the city can do, they should leave the streets alone.

Flood is not news

Why are we still talking about the flood of '93? With all of the things going on in this country and around the world, you guys are still thinking about this stuff. Try some news and get creative.

Clown controversy

This is about the rodeo clown who is being mistreated and abused for wearing an Obama mask. Rodeo clowns are comedians and they do silly things all the time to make people laugh. Nobody fired Jay Leno or David Letterman when they made fun of President Bush. Why should a rodeo clown, whose job it is to protect rodeo clowns and make people laugh, be fired for making people laugh.

Missouri flag

Gas prices

For lowering gas prices, I am very proud of you, President Obama.

Rodeo clown

The antics of the rodeo clown wearing an Obama mask at the Missouri State Fair has once again put the Show Me State on the defensive and has, in combination of so many other incidents, evolved to the point that any efforts to revive the once positive perception that so many had of our state may be fruitless.

Sarcasm alert

Thank you to all who mow and then blow the grass cuttings into the street. It is so beautiful to look at and a delight to walk and push strollers through.

Bathroom controversy

Seriously? Now a child from kindergarten up in California can use whatever bathroom they feel comfortable in. So to make transgender kids feel comfortable we make straight kids uncomfortable. Abomination.

Local bids

As a local business owner I find it very frustrating that the city of Cape would award contracts to out-of-town contractors for the new water treatment plant being built. We should at least require them to purchase from local businesses when purchasing supplies instead of shipping them in from St. Louis. The taxpayers who fund it and local businesses are benefiting greatly.
