Crisp Museum to host Women's Day of Art

The Crisp Museum will host a Women's Day of Art from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday at Southeast Missouri State University's River Campus. Those who attend the classes will create make-and-take art or view demonstrations and be given instructions to complete at home. Guest artists will teach classes around the theme "Let Yourself Go." Classes will include printmaking, collage, candlemaking, tissue card, bottle décor, spoon flower, paper beads and wire wrapped pendants. Classes begin at 9 a.m. and last until 4 p.m. with a lunch at noon. Attendees are asked to bring their lunches. The museum will be open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. with hands-on activity booths open. Booths include dip art, brush calligraphy, zap dried flowers, stamping and quilling paper. Demonstrations at lunch will show how to combine, display and use some of the art participants create. This event is free and open to the public. To register, call 651-2260. Registration closes at 4 p.m. today. Crisp Museum offers adult classes every Tuesday. Theatre and Dance open house planned

The Department of Theatre and Dance at Southeast Missouri State University will hold an open house at 6 p.m. Aug. 26 in the Rust Flexible Theatre at Southeast's River Campus so new students can meet faculty and staff. New theater and dance students, both those majoring and minoring in the department, and those interested in theater and dance, are invited. There also will be networking opportunities for new students. The open house is sponsored by the Department of Theatre and Dance in conjunction with the Office of Student Transitions. Cape Roller Girls take on Southern Illinois

The Cape Girardeau Roller Girls will take on the Southern Illinois Roller Girls on Saturday at the Arena Building. Doors will open at 6 p.m., and the bout will start at 7. Tickets are on sale online at brownpapertickets.com, Pitters, P Mac Music, or from any roller girl. Tickets are $7 in advance and $9 at the door. Children ages 5 years old and under get in free. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to the Cape Girardeau Parks and Recreation Foundation.

Price is Right Live! coming to St. Louis

The Peabody Opera House in St. Louis will host The Price is Right Live! at 8 p.m. Oct. 25. Tickets will go on sale at 11 a.m. today at the Ford Box Office at Scottrade Center, ticketmaster.com, Ticketmaster retail outlets or charge by phone 1-800-745-3000. The Price Is Right Live! is an interactive stage show that gives contestants pulled from the audience a chance to win appliances, vacations and cars by playing classic games from the TV game show. Additional purchase isn't required for contestant registration. It is open to legal U.S. residents, 18 years or older. Ticket purchase will not increase chances of being selected to play.
