ORAN, Mo. -- Matthew John LeGrand, 57, of Fairfax, Va., died Friday, Aug. 2, 2013, at Cancer Treatment Centers of America in Philadelphia. He was born April 19, 1956, in Oran, third son to Robey and Etber LeGrand. He graduated From Oran High School in 1974 and Southeast Missouri State University in 1979. ORAN, Mo. -- Matthew John LeGrand, 57, of Fairfax, Va., died Friday, Aug. 2, 2013, at Cancer Treatment Centers of America in Philadelphia.

He was born April 19, 1956, in Oran, third son to Robey and Etber LeGrand. He graduated From Oran High School in 1974 and Southeast Missouri State University in 1979. He married Nancy Dohogne on Dec. 27, 1980.

Matt served in the U.S. Marine Corps and as a U.S. Navy officer.

Matt and Nancy have five children, Caleb (Priscilla) of Simpsonville, S.C., Jason of Fultondale, Ala., Megan (Daniel) Anderson and daughter Alaythia of Centreville, Va., Daniel of Quantico, Va., and Julianna of Fairfax.

Before moving to Virginia in 2000, Matt and his family lived in St. Charles, Mo.

He is survived by his wife, Nancy; five children; his parents, Robey and Etber LeGrand of Oran; three brothers, Rodney of St. Charles, Michael of Maryland Heights, Mo., and Darren of St. Peters, Mo.

A memorial service will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Demaine Funeral Home, 5308 Backlick Road, Springfield, Va. Another service will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Drury Inn and Suites Creve Coeur, 11980 Olive Blvd., Creve Coeur, Mo.
