Southeast Missouri State senior Emily Coon has been chosen the Ohio Valley Conference co-offensive player of the week for volleyball.

Coon was named the MVP of the Maroon Classic in Starkville, Miss., over the weekend after posting 48 kills, 13 blocks and a .482 attack percentage to lead Southeast to the title.

Coon recorded a career-high 23 kills as the Redhawks beat host Mississippi State in the tournament final.

"Emily was unstoppable for us this weekend," Southeast coach Julie Yankus said in a release. "She had an amazing weekend for us, hitting almost .500 as well as good blocking on the net. She was a great leader on the court for us in our opening weekend against great teams."

Southeast returns to action this weekend with three matches at the Kansas State Invitational. The Redhawks face host Kansas State and Siena on Friday, then take on SIU Carbondale on Saturday.
