Junior Nikki Peters collected three wins in the Notre SoftballFest in pitching the host Bulldogs to the championship of the 16-team tournament.

Junior Nikki Peters collected three wins in the Notre SoftballFest in pitching the host Bulldogs to the championship of the 16-team tournament.

Peters, who is 5-0 with a 0.63 ERA on the season, allowed her first runs this year in the title game against previously unbeaten Kelly. The Bulldogs won the showdown of unbeatens 5-4 to improve to 7-0.

Peters threw a two-hit shutout against Perryville in the quarterfinals, then blanked St. Pius X on four hits in the semifinals. She also threw a three-hit shutout against Affton in a non-tournament game earlier in the week.

Peters earned all-conference and all-district honors as a sophomore.
