Ricky Lynn "Rick" Voges, 48, of Jackson reached the end of his journey fighting cancer, surrounded by his family Friday, Sept. 27, 2013, at Southeast Hospital in Cape Girardeau.

He was born Oct. 12, 1964, in Cape Girardeau, son of Robert Lynn "Bob" and Vera Jean Siebert Voges. He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Jackson, where he was baptized, confirmed and attended school. He was a 1983 graduate of Jackson High School. After graduation, he attended Nashville Auto Diesel College and graduated in 1984. Ricky owned and operated R & R Concete from 1986 to 1997. He had a passion for finishing concrete and did so for more than 25 years, most recently working for Lappe Cement Finishing Inc in Perryville, Mo. He was a member of Local 908 Concrete Finishers Union.

Ricky enjoyed being outdoors, taking care of the farm, caring for his dogs and calves, and in his free time, attending dirt track stock car races with his father.

Loving survivors include his parents; a sister, Carla Jean Clippard; a nephew, Luke Alan Clippard; a niece, Laurie Jean Clippard; aunts and uncles, Irene and Earl Siemers, Verla and Calvin Sailer, Harlen and Dorothy Siebert, Gladys (the late Earl) Siebert, Ellouise (the late Freeman) Siebert, Vernan and Pat Siebert, W.L. and Anna Dean Voges and their families.

He was preceded in death by an infant brother, Roger Lynn Voges; brother-in-law, Tim Clippard; grandparents, Earl and Louise Voges and Leo and Frieda Siebert. 

Friends may pay tribute to Ricky from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson.

The funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Robert Henrichs officiating. Inurnment will be in Russell Heights Cemetery in Jackson.

Memorials may take the form of contributions to St. Paul Lutheran Church or a church or charity of your choice.
