Southeast freshman defender Christina Rohde has been named the OVC defensive player of the week.

Rohde led all field players with 200 minutes as the Redhawks went 1-0-1 on the opening week of conference play, with both matches on the road.

Rohde did a little bit of everything in Friday's OVC opener, assisting on the game's only goal while also helping hold Murray State to only 10 shots in a 1-0 victory.

Southeast was challenged even more Sunday as Austin Peay scored on a penalty kick late in the first half. Rohde and the Redhawks' defense didn't yield another tally and ended up tying the Lady Govs 1-1.

Rohde, a St. Louis native who graduated from leads all Southeast field players with 759 minutes played and has recorded two assists.

The Redhawks are back in action Friday, hosting Lindenwood in a 6:30 p.m. nonconference matchup that will mark just Southeast's second home contest of the season.

Southeast then returns to OVC action Sunday when Jacksonville State visits Houck Stadium for a 1 p.m. match.
