First Friday receptions

Arts Council of Southeast Missouri

The Arts Council of Southeast Missouri will host a reception for the monster-themed creations of Michael Baird in Gallery 100 and the Lorimier Gallery through October. The Arts Council will also host a reception for the Community Wall exhibit of paranormal photography titled "Haunted Images -- Through The Lens of Tom Halstead."

The Chapman Gallery of the Arts Council of Southeast Missouri will highlight the work of Visual Arts Cooperative members Don Greenwood and Annie Schuchart through October.

The Art Gallery at the River Campus will present a diverse display of artwork from the Art Guild, the Department of Art student organization. The Art Guild will host a talk in the Art Gallery from 4 to 5 p.m. followed by a reception.

Art Gallery at the Crisp Museum

The Art Gallery at the Crisp Museum at the River Campus will feature the "Beth Thomas: Transition Spaces 13.2" exhibit which will be displayed through Dec. 8. Thomas will also give a gallery talk at 5:30 p.m.

The Artist Studio

The Artist Studio will feature new acrylic paintings on stretched canvas and piecework textile designs created by Judy Barks-Westrich.

The Mosaic Art Studio will present Crowley Ridge Pottery artist Tammy Clark. Clark will be featured in the front window during the month of October.

The Painted Wren

The Painted Wren will be celebrating the release of Sharon Woods Hopkins and Bill Hopkins' newest book in their mystery series. They will be on hand to sign copies of the book from 5 to 8 p.m.

The Gallery of Inspiration

The Gallery of Inspiration's Artist of the Month is Michael Croyle. A collection of Croyle's work will be on display in the front window gallery.
