Both lanes of Interstate 55 northbound are now open following an afternoon crash that closed the left lane at the Diversion Channel. The Cape Girardeau Police Department Twitter account just after 2 p.m. reported the crash closed the left lane of I-55 northbound at the Diversion Channel.

Both lanes of Interstate 55 northbound are now open following an afternoon crash that closed the left lane at the Diversion Channel.

The Cape Girardeau Police Department Twitter account just after 2 p.m. reported the crash closed the left lane of I-55 northbound at the Diversion Channel.

Cape Girardeau police later tweeted that a motor home traveling in the right lane switch lanes and struck another vehicle in the left lane. Four people in the vehicle were transported to a hospital to be treated for minor injuries.

Scott City police were called to a rear-end accident just south of Cape Girardeau on I-55 about the same time, the Scott City Police Department reported. It was unclear whether anyone was injured.

Just before 3 p.m., police reported all lanes were reopened.
