Debt ceiling

There would be no reason for Congress to ever raise the debt limit if the government would spend a little less money than it has incoming. The debt would decrease. You just have to spend less money than you bring in. It's called a balanced budget.

No fan of Fonda

To see the movie "The Butler" starring Jane Fonda is a slap in the face to all of our Vietnam veterans. She aided the Communist Vietnamese and committed treason against the United States. All Americans should boycott this movie. Even though it happened a long time ago, it's still in our hearts.

Glitches

Medicare suffered similar, even worse glitches than Obamacare, when signing-up time arrived. Naturally, opponents of Medicare deemed the program doomed. However, within six months or so, 93 percent of those eligible had signed up and the program was (is) very, very popular. Keep in mind there are many who don't want the program to succeed and will say, and apparently do, anything to try to keep those in most desperate need of it from signing up. However, we shall overcome.

Legally enjoyed

We loved "Legally Blonde"! It was outstanding. Really professional. Hard to believe those are students up there. Their musicals are as good as the best touring shows, and better than most of them.

Hoax

David Limbaugh wants to know the biggest hoax played on the American people? How about the NRA and its scare tactics? Be afraid people, very afraid ... and send us your money.

Gone

I recently asked a local bookstore worker where "Gone Girl" was. Answer? "Gone."

Graffiti

Re: new graffiti law. Is there not a law against defacing property? Isn't it enforced? If it is, then why do we need to criminalize property owners that have their property defaced? Why aren't the persons that DO the damages caught and made to clean up the mess? And why should it be against the law for me to paint an intricate, multicolor pattern on my Victorian house? How do we distinguish my free speech expression from "graffiti"?

Legally impressed

I hope everyone had a chance to see "Legally Blonde." I was so impressed. This was my first show at the River Campus. I go to the Fox all the time and don't usually think about student productions. However, this show changed my mind. I can't believe how professional it was. Besides some sound and costume issues, this show equaled anything I've seen in St Louis. Kudos to these talented students.
