Havco Wood Products hosted a 2013 Manufacturing Day open house at its Cape Girardeau plant on Oct. 4. The open house was attended by a group that including representatives from the state Senate, the state House of Representatives, SEMO Port Authority, city of Cape Girardeau, Cape Girardeau County and others. Pepsi MidAmerica unveils Christian-artist can series

At a recent event in Franklin, Tenn., Pepsi MidAmerica unveiled its Christian Artist Can Panel Series, which features Fervent Records' Francesca Battistelli and fellow Christian artists Matt Maher, Matthew West and TobyMac. Each artist is featured on 3 million cans available throughout the Midwest this fall. On each can is a link offering a free song download from the artist. Advertising group to present graphic and web designer

Brian Bookwalter, graphic and web designer, will present "Visual Communication in the Tourism Industry" at the Tri-State Advertising and Marketing Professional's monthly meeting at 11:30 a.m. Oct. 22 at Port Cape Girardeau. The presentation will provide attendees with insight regarding the campaign that Jones Huyett Partners created for the Kansas Department of Wildlife Parks and Tourism. Bookwalter is employed by Jones Huyett and also serves as the American Advertising Federation of Topeka's club president and has volunteered with the Kansas City Wordpress organization as a guest speaker. SoutheastHEALTH pulmonary rehabilitation program receives national certification

The pulmonary rehabilitation program at SoutheastHEALTH has been certified by the American Association of Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Rehabilitation. The certification recognizes Southeast's commitment to improving patients' quality of life by enhancing standards of care. The program includes exercise, education, counseling and support for patients and families, and respiratory therapist Tina Kramer educates pulmonary patients on medications, inhaler use, self-care techniques and knowledge about when to seek medical treatment. The American Association of Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Rehabilitation program certification is the only peer-reviewed accreditation process designed to review individual programs for adherence to standards and guidelines developed by the association and other professional societies.
