FROHNA, Mo. -- Richard L. Roth, 92, of Frohna died Wednesday, Nov. 6, 2013, at the Perry County Memorial Hospital.

He was born Sept. 19, 1921, in Wittenberg, Mo., son of Victor and Dorothea Kasten Roth. He and Verna M. Vogel were married May 5, 1946. She preceded him in death June 30, 2012.

Richard was a truck driver and night watchman for East Perry Lumber Co. 46 years. He was a member of Concordia Lutheran Church in Frohna.

He was a U.S. Army World War II veteran, 96th Division serving in the South Pacific and member of American Legion Post 133. He was avid bowler and loved going to the Senior Center in Altenburg, Mo.

Survivors include five sons and one daughter, Dennis (Kathy) Roth of Jackson, Gary (LiChu) Roth of Riverside, Calif., David (Betty) Roth of Altenburg, Gerald (Susan) Roth of Lancaster, Calif., Tom (Sue) Roth of Altenburg and Connie (Ronald) Courtois of Perryville, Mo.; one brother, Milton Roth of Woodinville, Wash.; 10 grandchildren, Shelah (Neil) Hester, Missy (Nathan) Adams, Anye (Sergio) Deana, Alex Roth, Jeremy (Katie) Roth, Stephanie (Sam) Lueders, Justin (Brooke) Roth, Amanda (Blake) Sauer, Benjamin Courtois and Josh Roth; and eight great-grandchildren, Kimberlie, Cameron and Riley Hester, Paul and Annie Adams, Jonah Roth, Joleigh Sauer and Lucas Deana.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; three grandchildren, Christopher, Jenna and Michael Roth; and two sisters, Verna Maevers and Norma Benton Chapman.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday and from 6:30 a.m. until the time of service at 10 a.m. Saturday at Concordia Lutheran Church in Frohna.

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the church, with the Rev. Rod Benkendorf officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Memorials are preferred for Concordia Lutheran Church School Addition.

Young and Sons Funeral Home Inc. in Perryville provided the arrangements.
