ORAN, Mo. -- George Thomas Schott, 80, of Oran passed away Wednesday, Nov. 6, 2013, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

He was born March 30, 1933, in Oran to the late George Lucas and Mable Cowger Schott.

George married Sylvia Faye Vivrett on June 15, 1985, and she survives.

He worked as an aircraft equipment specialist with the Civil Service Department. He was a member of Jehovah's Witnesses South Congregation of Cape Girardeau.

Survivors include his wife, Sylvia of the home; one grandson, Harold "Brent" Schott of Trenton, Ill.; two great-granddaughters, Marlee Lynn and Ella Marie Schott; one sister-in-law, Clara Vivrett of Oran; one niece; one nephew; many cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by two daughters, Susan Renee Ellis and Sandra Lee Urton; and one brother, Leonard Schott.

Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Saturday at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Oran.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at the chapel, with Elder Earl Norman officiating. Burial will be at Friend Cemetery in Oran.
