Lazy L Safari to stay open this winter

For the first time since opening in 2010, Lazy L Safari Park in Cape Girardeau will remain open during the winter months through February. Zoo hours will be reduced to 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., and it will be open to the public on weekends and for special events only. Because of the colder weather, a few species such as primates, reptiles and parrots will need to be put up into heated areas. However, most of the animals will remain in their enclosures, so there will still be plenty of animals to feed and pet. The park also offers an educational program during the winter months, Safari Adventures Educational Presentation. For more information call 243-7862 or visit lazylsafari.com. Get updates from the park's Facebook fan page at facebook.com/lazylsafari.
