The woman was arrested on suspicion of driving while intoxicated but no charges were filed as of Thursday morning.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol said someone in the vehicle lit firecrackers and bottle rockets. The driver lost control and wrecked, causing the SUV to catch fire. The 43-year-old woman and both sons, ages 16 and 13, were hospitalized with serious injuries.

Authorities say it isn't clear who lit the fireworks.
