Veda Clark

Veda Wilma Berry Clark, 85, of Cape Girardeau died Saturday, Nov. 23, 2013, at her home.

She was born Nov. 19, 1928, in Madison County, Mo., to Oby and Gladys Midkiff Berry.

She and Harley Delmar Clark were married April 7, 1945, at Newburn, Tenn.

Veda and her family lived in Fredericktown, Mo., until 1963, when they moved to Cape Girardeau. She was a member of Lynwood Baptist Church in Cape Girardeau. Veda worked at Ralph Edwards Sportswear and Florsheim Shoe before being owner of Clark Appliance with her husband more than 40 years. She loved tennis and sewing, and was a volunteer at Southeast Hospital.

Survivors include her husband, Harley Delmar Clark of Cape Girardeau; a son, Charles W. (Renda) Clark of Montgomery, Texas; four daughters, Brenda K. (Delmer) Lewis of Millersville, Linda (Rodger) Deimund of Cape Girardeau, Sue Ann (Mike) Elliott of St. Augustine, Fla., and Dianna J. (Daniel) Todt of Cape Girardeau; 12 grandchildren; and 25 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Chapel in Cape Girardeau.

The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the chapel, with the Rev. Mark Anderson officiating. Entombment will be at Cape County Memorial Park Mausoleum in Cape Girardeau.

Memorial contributions may be given to Lynwood Baptist Missions Fund, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or Teen Challenge.
