This is the kind of comic relief I need. A Republican Missouri legislator has called for the impeachment of Gov. Nixon. If you're going to be effective in trashing President Obama, you're going to have to do better than publish a reprint from disgraced Arab "scholar," Fouad Ajami. Among other things, Ajami once assured us that once the U.S. liberated Iraq, the Iraqis would rise in a united sense of undying gratitude and establish a democracy that would be the envy of the Mideast...

This is the kind of comic relief I need. A Republican Missouri legislator has called for the impeachment of Gov. Nixon.

Disgraced scholar

If you're going to be effective in trashing President Obama, you're going to have to do better than publish a reprint from disgraced Arab "scholar," Fouad Ajami. Among other things, Ajami once assured us that once the U.S. liberated Iraq, the Iraqis would rise in a united sense of undying gratitude and establish a democracy that would be the envy of the Mideast.

War and website

To put things in perspective: Dec. 7, 1941, to May 8, 1945: That's three years, five months, one day, or 1,248 days. Now, March 21, 2010, to Oct. 1, 2013, which is three years, six months, 10 days, or 1,290 days. What does it mean? The time from when we were attacked at Pearl Harbor to the day Germany surrendered is less time than the federal government has had to build a working webpage. We mobilized millions of men and women, built tens of thousands of tanks, planes, jeeps, subs, cruisers, destroyers, aircraft carriers, torpedoes and tens of millions of guns, bombs and bullets. The nation turned the tide in North Africa, invaded Italy and France, won the Battle of the Bulge, Turned the tide in the Pacific by winning the Battle of Midway. We raced to both Berlin and Tokyo -- at the same time, winning both. And in that amount of time -- this administration can't build a working webpage.

Pay for display

Here it is almost Christmas. Are you serious? This year, there will be a charge to put up displays at Cape County Park? Everyone involved should be ashamed of themselves. Businesses and individuals spend their own time and their own money to provide a service for the community to enjoy. Not to mention we already pay for this park every year with our taxes. I plan on going to Jackson, where it is free and where they have common sense. I am sure while we are over there, we will grab something to eat and do a little shopping.

Anti-God graffiti

I was walking on the Osage Trail on Sunday afternoon and discovered offensive anti-God graffiti that was sprayed intermittently on the trail. Upon contacting the parks and recreation department, I was told this is an ongoing problem that occurs every week. They have to send crews out to paint over the graffiti and then someone does it again. Can't something be done about this? The person I called indicated they would probably get the police involved. Jesus is alive, and may He call this nation to repentance for their Godlessness! Amen!

Ignorance

President Obama didn't know about the Fast and Furious gunrunning operation. He didn't know about the threat in Benghazi. He didn't know about the problems with the Obamacare website. What exactly does he know about? And isn't he supposed to have people who keep him informed? How does he not know about these very important things? Is he unconcerned? Uninterested? Incompetent? All of the above?

Medicaid expansion

Many people who would benefit from the Affordable Care act and have health insurance do not, alas, have access to it because the states they live in like, of course, Missouri, do not allow for Medicaid expansion.
