Clarence Fred "Junior" Sander Jr., 81, of Cape Girardeau died Wednesday, Dec. 25, 2013, at his home.

He was born Dec. 6, 1932, in Cape Girardeau, to Clarence Fred and Emma Welcher Sander Sr. He first married Evelyn Cotner. She preceded him in death May 19, 1983. He then married Judy Kaufman on April 25, 1986, in Cape Girardeau.

Junior served his country in the U.S. Army.

He was of the Pentecostal belief and was a member of Four Square Gospel Church. He was a mechanic at Ford Groves 37 years, retiring in 1994.

Survivors include his wife, Judy Sander of Cape Girardeau; two daughters, Tina (John) Kaufman of Cape Girardeau, Angie (James) Whitfield of Scott City; a brother, Robert (Judy) Sander of Texarkana, Texas; a sister, Shirley (Mark) Patrick of Ste. Genevieve, Mo.; four grandchildren, Travis (Jamie) Kaufman, Chelsea Kaufman, Emily (Kyle) Brown and Trevor Whitfield; and three great-grandchildren, Gabriella, Gage and Cord Kaufman.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Teresa Sander; two brothers; and a sister.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Ford and Sons Sprigg Street Funeral Home.

The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Monday at the chapel, with the Rev. James McLane officiating. Burial will be in Cape County Memorial Park, with military rites conducted by Missouri Honor Guard.

Memorial contributions may be given to Crown Hospice.
