Steven L. Leimbach, 50, of Jackson passed away Sunday, Jan. 26, 2014, at his home.

He was born Dec. 9, 1963, in Cape Girardeau, to Norman and Arlene Trickey Leimbach. He and Susan Nesslein were married April 9, 1994.

Steven was a 1982 graduate of Jackson High School. He was a maintenance tech, working the past 22 years at Mondi near Indian Creek. He previously worked at Rental Land and Heuer Equipment in Cape Girardeau. He attended Fruitland Community Church and supported the American Red Cross by frequently donating to the blood bank.

He faithfully attended his son's recreational basketball and baseball games; and the two often attended other games together. Steven had a love for motorcycles and was well-recognized in the circle of dirt bike racing. He also enjoyed working on motorcycles, riding his street bike and tending to the family farm.

Survivors of his immediate family include his loving wife of nearly 20 years, Susan of Jackson; a son, Grady of the home; two siblings, Dale Leimbach of Jackson and Cindy (Jay) Hitchcock of Fulton, Mo.; four nephews, T.J., Eric, Kaleb and Warren Hitchcock; a niece, Jessie (William) Meyers; a great-nephew, Thomas; paternal aunt, Helen Leimbach of Cape Girardeau; and a maternal uncle, Nelson (Lorene) Trickey of Columbia, Mo.

Survivors of his wife's family include her parents, Doug and Jodi Nesslein of Cape Girardeau; a brother-in-law, Paul Nesslein of Fort Worth, Texas, and his children, Brynn, Mason and Miles Nesslein.

He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.

Steven will be sadly missed by his buddies at Mondi and his bike-riding crew.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the chapel of McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Mike Parry and Dan Greene officiating.

Interment will follow at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Fruitland.
