PERRYVILLE, Mo. -- Donald E. Wissman, 69, of Perryville died Sunday, March 30, 2014, at Mercy Hospital Jefferson in Crystal City, Mo.

He was born July 6, 1944, in Cape Girardeau, son of Jesse and Mary McLain Wissmann. He and Christine Wissman were married Jan. 4, 1991.

Donald was a former sheet metal worker with Local 36.

He was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Vietnam era.

Survivors include his wife; his mother of Cape Girardeau; a daughter, Diana (Michael) Flynn of Perryville; a stepson, Joel Palmer of Hawaii; two brothers, Mark Wissmann and Wayne Wissmann of Jackson; and four grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father; a brother, Zane Wissmann; and a sister, Fern Hency.

Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Young and Sons Funeral Home in Perryville.

A memorial service will be at 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Don Estes officiating.

Memorials are preferred to Rough Road Rescue.
