Loy Denzil Haupt, 78, of Millersville died Thursday, April 3, 2014, at Landmark Hospital in Cape Girardeau.

He was born Feb. 14, 1936, in Millersville to Wilson Stuart and Cora Myrtle Moore Haupt. He and Nelta Marie Smith were married June 25, 1976, at Caney Fork Baptist Church.

Loy graduated from Oak Ridge High School. He was a member of Caney Fork Church and had been Sunday school superintendent a number of years. He was a farmer all his life, specializing in cattle.

He served in the U.S. Army from 1958 to 1960, part of which he served in Germany.

Survivors include his wife, Nelta; a son, Brian Haupt of Millersville; and a brother, Raymond Haupt of Tucson, Ariz.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Cracraft-Miller Funeral Home in Jackson, and from 10 a.m. Monday to service time at Caney Fork Church.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the church, with the Rev. Bill Rhodes officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Memorials may be made to Caney Fork Cemetery Fund.
