Amanda G. Fritsche, 94, of Farrar, Mo., died Friday, April 4, 2014, at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau. She was born March 13, 1920, in Farrar, daughter of Johanes "John" Otto and Emma Margaret Weibrecht Lohmann. She and Alfred Eldor Fritsche were married May 15, 1938. He preceded her in death Feb. 10, 1985...

Amanda G. Fritsche, 94, of Farrar, Mo., died Friday, April 4, 2014, at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau.

She was born March 13, 1920, in Farrar, daughter of Johanes "John" Otto and Emma Margaret Weibrecht Lohmann.

She and Alfred Eldor Fritsche were married May 15, 1938. He preceded her in death Feb. 10, 1985.

Amanda was a homemaker. She enjoyed baking and decorating cakes for all occasions and quilting. She was a member of Salem Lutheran Church, Salem Ladies Aid and Lutheran Women's Missionary League in Farrar.

Survivors include four daughters and one son, Ardyth (Leon) Mueller, Edyth (Elbert) Roth, both of Farrar, Melba (Calvin) Versemann of St. Peters, Mo., Wayne Fritsche of Jackson and Sandy (Ed) Schilling of Jackson; one brother, Willard (Arleen) Lohmann of Farrar; one sister-in-law, Lucille Fritsche of St. Louis; 16 grandchildren and their spouses; 30 great-grandchildren; three great-stepgrandchildren; and two foster great-granddaughters.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; one brother, Milford; two sisters, Ivalee Lohmann and Elberta Meier; and one granddaughter.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday and 6:30 to 8 a.m. Tuesday at Young and Sons Funeral Home in Perryville.

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Salem Lutheran Church in Farrar, with the Rev. Roger Abernathy officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Memorials are preferred to Salem Lutheran Church, Saxony Lutheran High School, KFUO or charity of choice.
