A Bertrand, Mo., man died in a one-vehicle accident at 6:37 a.m. Saturday in Scott County, according to a Missouri State Highway Patrol crash report.

Stanley J. Templeton, 47, was southbound on Interstate 55 at the 77 mile marker, the report said. The accident occurred when the vehicle ran off the left side of the road, overcorrected, ran off the right side of the road and struck a tree, the report said.

Templeton was pronounced dead at the scene by Scott County coroner Scott Amick, the report said.
