Dorothy Ann Crites, 64, of Cape Girardeau, formerly of Scott City, died Tuesday, April 8, 2014, at Saint Francis Medical Center.

She was born Aug. 9, 1949, in Cape Girardeau, to Willard Basil and Sarah Jane Dickerson Crites.

Dorothy was a medical transcriptionist at Saint Francis. She was a member of St. Mary's Cathedral in Cape Girardeau and VFW Ladies Auxiliary Post 6407 in Scott City.

Survivors include a brother, Michael Crites of Memphis, Tenn.; two sisters, Janie Crites and Theresa Echols of Scott City; and a niece, Emily Echols.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Patrick Dale Crites; a sister, Mary Sue Crites; a stepmother, Mildred Crites; and two stepsisters, Bobbie Avery and Millie Sue Ancell.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Amick-Burnett Chapel in Scott City. Parish prayers will be at 6 p.m.

Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Kelso, Mo., with the Rev. Oliver Clavin as celebrant. Burial will be in St. Augustine Cemetery.
