Dean Mark Drerup, 54, of Jackson passed away peacefully surrounded by family Saturday, April 12, 2014.

His loving parents preceded Dean in death.

Dean never met a stranger and was loved by all that knew him. He was a selfless person in a very self-centered world. Dean's laugh and smile were infectious.

He was an avid hunter and fisherman and spent some of his best days hunting with Mark, Tom, Michael, Austin and Dillon or spending time on the family farm in Portageville. He remained close with his Sigma Chi brothers from college and they were a big part of his life.

A private family memorial will be held at a later date. Cracraft-Miller Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Dean's family wish to thank all those who made his last months so memorable, especially his 9-point buck from the family farm, elk hunt in Colorado and one last fishing trip in Mississippi; you all made years of memories for him and us.

In lieu of memorials, Dean requested doing a random act of kindness for someone in need.
