Oran's Jacob Priggel marked the one-week anniversary of his walk-off hit against Scott City with another against Cooter on Wednesday afternoon.

Priggel drove home Preston Hahn and Seth Ressell following Ben Heuring's sacrifice in the bottom of the seventh to lead the Eagles to a 4-3 victory at home.

The teams turned an opening in their schedules into earlier-than-usual meeting after facing each other in the state playoffs the last three seasons. Oran (7-3) won each of those meetings on its way to advancing to three consecutive Class 1 final fours.

Ressell, who was the winning pitcher in Oran's sectional win over the Wildcats last season, was the winner on Wednesday afternoon as well. He allowed nine hits and three earned runs while striking out one and walking none. He was also 2 for 3 at the plate with two runs scored.

Cooter outhit Oran 9-7 in the contest but committed four errors to the Eagles' none.

The Bulldogs picked up the SEMO Conference win on the road to improve to 11-1 and 2-0 in conference play.

Ross James improved to 4-1 on the mound. He pitched five innings, allowing five hits while striking out five and walking six.

Chase Urhahn was 2 for 2 for Notre Dame and drove in three runs.

Sophomore Zach Beel hit a solo homer and a triple while going 2 for 3 at the plate but it wasn't enough for Leopold to win on the road.

Austin Bucher was the losing pitcher after allowing three earned runs on four hits in six innings. He struck out two and walked two for Leopold (3-5).

St. Vincent finished fourth at the nine-team tournament, which was held at the Raintree Country Club in Hillsboro, Mo., with a team score of 380.

Levi Gotto finished sixth in the individual competition with an 86 while Zach Heberlie was 14th with a 103.

Alex Lipe and Ethan Holdman combined for a 95 in the best ball category while Zach Baudendstel and Matt Julian carded a 96 in the scramble.

SOFTBALL

Leopold 11, Bloomfield 5

Emily Seiler went 4 for 4 at the plate and blasted a three-RBI triple to help lead the Wildcats to a road win.

Kacie Hampton added a three-RBI double and Leah Landewee was 3 for 5 for Leopold (7-1).

Lexi Vandeven struck out 10 batters while improving to 6-1 in the circle with the complete-game win.

BOYS TENNIS

The Central boys tennis team traveled to the Springfield Invitational on Wednesday. No. 1 singles player Alex Mailes advanced to the quarterfinal round before being ousted 8-1 by No. 2 seed Mitchell Worley of Jenks, Okla. Mailes received a bye in the first round before beating Hunter Sadler (Waynesville) 8-0 and David Cavero 9-7.

Vikas Rudrappa played in the No. 2 singles bracket and beat Reno DeBois of Reeds Spring 8-2 before falling to Kickapoo's Brandon Craig 8-4.

Jalen McDowell and Jonah Roop combined to compete in the No. 1 doubles bracket. They defeated Harley Cardell and Mike Jones of Reeds Spring 8-1 and Jared Golden and Sam Shoemaker of Carthage 8-1 before bowing out to Alex Atonides and Carter Files of Jenks, Okla., in an 8-4 decision.

Derek Nunnery and Caleb Strickland lost in the first round of the No. 2 doubles. The duo was beaten 8-5 by Garrett Bacon and Landon O'Steen from Nixa.

The Pirates defeated Central in the first game of pool play at the Hillsboro Tournament. Alex Spears scored the only goal with the help of Allison Moldenhauer's assist.
