Loretta Petry

STE. GENEVIEVE, Mo. -- Loretta P. Petry, 88, of Ste. Genevieve died Thursday, April 17, 2014, at Ste. Genevieve County Memorial Hospital in Ste. Genevieve.

She was born Oct. 21, 1925, in Hartman, Ark., to William M. and Agnes Smreker Oberste. She and Arthur F. Petry were married Oct. 14, 1952.

Loretta was a member of American Legion Auxiliary and VFW Auxiliary.

Survivors include a daughter, Judy Heidlage of Columbia, Mo.; a son, Tom (Carolyn) Petry of Salem, Conn.; Gerald "Beck" and Mary Bleckler of Ste. Genevieve, who were very much like another son and daughter to her; six grandchildren, Michael and David Heidlage, Shannon, William, Andrew and Erin Petry; and two great-grandchildren, Alissa and Erica Heidlage.

She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; five brothers, Paul, Carl, Marcellus, Ralph and Jerome Oberste; three sisters, Margaret and Philomena Oberste and Alvina Stropp.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Basler Funeral Home in

Ste. Genevieve.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Church of Ste. Genevieve, with Monsignor Daniel Mosley officiating. Burial will be in Valle Spring Cemetery in Ste. Genevieve.
