Dr. Jean Diemer is the newest medical partner and pediatrician at Cape Physician Associates of Saint Francis Medical Center. She joins 11 other physicians at the practice.

Diemer is a native of Anna, Ill., and attended Southern Illinois University in Carbondale. She is board-certified in pediatrics, and has a special interest in newborns, preventive care for children and adolescents and childhood obesity.

Her husband is Dr. Thomas Diemer, director of Medical Affairs at the hospital.

William Schabbing, DVM owner/practitioner at Jackson Veterinary Clinic in Jackson, was inducted into the Missouri Veterinary Medical Foundation's Veterinary Honor Roll during a recent ceremony in Jefferson City, Mo.

Clients, colleagues, family and friends may nominate an individual for the honor, which is given to Missouri Veterinary Medical Association member veterinarians who have demonstrated leadership in their community and profession.

Michelle Long now is the marketing coordinator for Lawless Harley-Davidson, which recently took ownership of Bootheel Harley-Davidson and is housed at the same location, 2100 E. Outer Road North in Scott City.

Long, of Cape Girardeau, is responsible for coordinating summer events, acting as a liaison with motorcycle clubs and groups to accommodate benefit rides and activities, and helping the company become more community-focused.

Kenneth Volkerding, a Cape Girardeau representative of Modern Woodmen of America, was named to the Modern Woodmen's President's Club.

The honor recognizes Volkerding's high achievement in life insurance sales among the organization's representatives nationwide.

Mark Stone, a Cape Girardeau native, has been appointed to a newly created position at Central Methodist University.

He received a bachelor's degree in communications from the university in 2005.

Currently the assistant dean of student activities, Stone will become assistant dean for athletics and student activities on July 1. Responsibilities with the Athletic Department will be added to his current responsibilities with student activities.

Dr. Michael Hinni, son of Dr. and Mrs. John Hinni of Cape Girardeau, was appointed to chairman of the Arizona Department of Otolaryngology -- Head and Neck Surgery/Audiology.

Dr. Michael Hinni currently is the program director for the Otolaryngology Residency Program in the Department of Otolaryngology at the Mayo Clinic in Arizona, and a professor of otolaryngology.

BioKyowa Inc. recently recognized the following employees' 30-year anniversary with the company that opened in 1984 (pictured below): Charlie Goodpasture, John Myers, Frank Glueck, Ken Ruesler, Kevin Ross, Linda Pruett, Dave Jennings, Kenny Ross, David Roark, Van Smith and Walter James.
