Scott County Central Braves pulled in four of the 10 honors bestowed to local players and coaches with today's release of the 2013-14 all-state basketball teams selected by the Missouri Sportswriters and Broadcasters.

Senior point guard LaRandis Banks was among three individuals honored from the Scott County Central boys' 17th state championship squad. Banks averaged 19 points per game for the 26-5 Braves.

SCC second-year coach Frank Staple was selected the Class 1 coach of the year, while sophomore Jeffery Porter, who averaged 14.7 points, was chosen second team.

SCC Central senior Mikaela Blissett also pulled in first-team all-state honors on the girls side after averaging 22.7 ppg and nine rebounds.

Also in Class 1, Oak Ridge senior Ryan Below, who averaged 23.5 points and 14.3 rebounds, was a first-team selection.

Advance senior Lane Below, who led the area with a 27.3 scoring average, was awarded first-team distinction in Class 2 boys, while Woodland senior Josie Long was chosen to the Class 3 girls first team after averaging a double-double of 26.2 points and 11.2 rebounds.

Second-team selections were Leopold senior Cameron Davis in Class 1 boys, Saxony Lutheran sophomore Brianna Mueller in Class 3 girls and Notre Dame senior Annie Siebert in Class 4 girls.
