I know I speak for many people when I say thank you, city of Cape, for building the dog park in Kiwanis Park. We know walking the dog is good for both the dog as well the owner. But many people who live in apartments or don't have fenced-in yards benefit from the socialization and play times the dogs enjoy. It's also a great way to meet other dog lovers. We are hopeful that some sort of shade might be provided during the really hot days. But what a blessing the park is. Thanks again...

I want to thank the city of Cape Girardeau for fixing the streets in the 1900 block of Longview. They have made it from potholes to speed bumps. I will be sending you the bill for my realignment on my car.

Food stamp problems

I have lived in Cape Girardeau, Missouri, my whole life. I have applied for food stamps, being a hardworking citizen who pays taxes and pays bills, and asking my government for help. It has been more than 30 days. I have been trying to get in touch with the office in order to find out what is required of me, but yet nobody finds the time to call back or tell me, so that I might get somewhere in my community. Now, I had called them today for help, and they hang up on me. What am I supposed to do? I do my job. I work. I pay my bills.
