__What makes you the most qualified candidate for this position?:__

I am well respected in the community, and I believe that integrity is the most imporatant quality in a Judge, not the least important, as does my opponent. I am well respected in both my professional life as an attorney, and in my private life, as a father and someone with a lifelong involvement in youth sports. Those who know me trust me to be honest, fair, intelligent, repectful and dignified.

__Overcrowding has become a concern for jails and prisons across the state. Would you support the use of drug courts or other rehabilitation programs to help address the issue?:__

Jails and prisons exist to protect society from dangerous criminals. As Judge, it would by my job to make sure those criminals who truly pose a threat to innocent citizens are locked up. Others, who are not dangerous or pose no threat, should be punished and rehabilitated in a way that doesn't overcrowd our jails, so that dangerous criminals are not released back into the population.

__What are your thoughts on technology in the courtroom?:__

I will be a Judge that utilizes the latest technology to run an efficient court, providing relief for those who need it in a swift fashion, rather than delaying cases or shuttling them to different Judges from other counties, as happens all too often currently (600 disqualifications a year of Gary Kamp). Citizens of Cape Girardeau County deserve a swift and expedient Court, and I will work hard to see that that happens.

__Where do you believe the most improvements, if any, should be made to the Division III court?:__

The most improvement would be in restoring the dignity and respect for the role of Judge in division III. A Judge should always conduct himself, in both his or her professional and personal life, with dignity and respect. I have the integrity to be a fair and consistent administrator of justice, and will always conduct myself in a manner consistent with the general public's idea of what a public servant should be.
