The Missourian publishes a complete layout of photographs of the moon's surface, made as Ranger 7 descended toward the surface of the moon; scientists connected with the space program released 190 of the 4,316 sensational photos Ranger 7 snapped in the final 16 minutes and 40 before it crashed on the moon at 8:25 a.m. yesterday.

COLUMBIA, Mo. -- Victor H. Drumm, 73, dies at his home here; he was a former football coach at State College, who later operated hatcheries in Cape Girardeau and Columbia.

1939

George Englehart, who, with his wife, holds title to some of the hill land along Indian Creek, on part of which is Sugar Loaf Mountain, says he is in no hurry to sell the tract; he was asked to put a price on it by some Jackson men, who wish to build a lodge on Sugar Loaf, which is surrounded by timbered hills.

After being in Hawaii through July, Mr. and Mrs. T.P. Russell of Cape Girardeau, and daughter, Avis, return home; they visited Mr. and Mrs. Russell's son and daughter-in-law, Capt. and Mrs. Joseph P. Russell, at Schofield Barracks.

1914

In an effort to protect their interests and those of the city, a committee appointed by the school board will consult with attorney I.R. Kelso over the conflicts brewing between the architect and the construction company over the construction of the big central school building.

The salary lid was blown off the Southeast Missouri Baseball League at a meeting of five of the six managers yesterday at Caruthersville, Missouri; a rule was adopted that requires all teams to have at least four players on the team, while the other five may be salaried men obtained anywhere; in addition, managers may pay those salaried players any amount of money they desire.
