SIKESTON, Mo. -- William "Beck" Smith, 72, a lifelong resident of Sikeston, died Sunday, Aug. 3, 2014, at his home.

He was born Jan. 11, 1942, in New Madrid County, to the late Roland Webster and Motel Beck Smith. He and Bonnie Jean Barnes were married May 26, 1961, at Canalou, Missouri.

Beck had been a route driver for White Rose Laundry, and was a member of Sikeston Community Church.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, Woody Smith of the home and John D. Smith of Sikeston; a daughter, Janice Frazier of Sikeston; a brother, Roland Clifford Smith of Cape Girardeau; a sister, Sara Esther Ozbun of Senath, Missouri; five grandchildren, Ashley and Landon Wheeler, Jena Enos, Brittany Smith, Jacob Smith and Skyler Smith; and five great-grandchildren, Abbigale Wheeler, Ashland Wheeler, Gunner Bugg, Ryce Wheeler and Ryder Enos.

Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Blanchard Funeral Chapel in Sikeston.

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the chapel, with the Rev. Glen Cantrell, pastor of Sikeston Community Church, officiating. Burial will be in Garden of Memories.

Active pallbearers will be Landon Wheeler, Robbie Lambert, Dean Spurlock, Ronnie Wilson, Jack Watkins and Terry Long.

Honorary pallbearers will be Larry Taul, Larry Gilmer, Gene Adams, Mike Nelson and Jeff Adams.

Memorial contributions may be made to The Arthritis Foundation or American Cancer Society.
