Troy Dale Pruett, 66, of Cape Girardeau passed away Monday, Aug. 4, 2014, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau. He was born Feb. 29, 1948, in Poplar Bluff, Missouri, to the late Troy O. and Pearl E. Gentzen Pruett. Troy was a graduate of Poplar Bluff High School and attended Memphis State University. Troy Dale Pruett, 66, of Cape Girardeau passed away Monday, Aug. 4, 2014, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

He was born Feb. 29, 1948, in Poplar Bluff, Missouri, to the late Troy O. and Pearl E. Gentzen Pruett.

Troy was a graduate of Poplar Bluff High School and attended Memphis State University. He was bar manager at Port Cape Girardeau Restaurant, where he was employed 40 years. He was a former manager of Pruett's Pit Barbeque in Poplar Bluff.

Survivors include two brothers, Robert Larry (Darlene) Pruett of Jacksonville, Florida, and Jerry R. (Karen) Pruett of Bloomfield, Connecticut; nieces, Christie Busch, Kathyrn Pruett and Robin Pruett; a nephew, Dan Pruett; and lifelong friends, Doc and Karen Cain, Steve Inman, David B. Knight, Bill Wyatt and countless others.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the chapel, with the Rev. Donny Ford officiating. A graveside service will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Memorial Gardens in Poplar Bluff.

Memorial contributions may be given to Old Town Cape Scholarship Garden Fund.
