County's Democrats elect officers

New officers have been elected to the Cape Girardeau County Democratic Central Committee.

J. Michael Davis was voted committee chairman, and Donna Smith will serve as vice chairwoman. J. Paul Heisserer and Linda Sanders were elected treasurer and secretary, respectively.

Each was elected Aug. 19 to a two-year term.

Some of the major duties of county central committees are organizing election-year activities, selecting replacements for elected officials in their party who cannot finish their terms and representing the county in the state party.
